Top 3 Things to Know About the New Walking Trail at Pigeon Forge Winterfest
While Winterfest is already a festive holiday tradition, things are getting even better this year with the addition of the new Wonders of Light Walking Trail! This free 6-mile trail treats guests to 20 new light displays, including walk-thru arches, a colorful 52-foot-long caterpillar, and plenty of other magical sights! Here are the top 3 things to know about the new walking trail at Pigeon Forge Winterfest:
1. What to Expect
The Wonders of Light Walking Trail at Pigeon Forge Winterfest offers you the chance to take a pleasant stroll past some breathtaking holiday light displays! As you walk along the path, vibrant snowflakes, shooting stars, snow people, and a 20-foot-tall ice fountain light your way! You’ll also find an array of cute critters frolicking along the path, such as deer, bears, frogs, and squirrels that range in height from 13 to 19 feet tall! You’ll love the wildlife displays with an enchanted forest full of giant mushrooms amid a light field of dandelions and flowers, as well as a nature scene with woodland creatures ranging from grasshoppers to dragonflies!
2. Access Points to the Trail
There are several access points to the Winterfest Wonders of Light Trail, as it spans the Riverwalk from the Municipal Parking Lot to the approximate intersection of Old Mill Avenue and Butler Street. Some of the most convenient access points include Patriot Park, the LeConte Center, The Old Mill, and the city’s Municipal Parking Lot. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a break from your Winterfest driving tour along the Parkway and stretch your legs for a bright and colorful stroll!
3. Family, Wheelchair, and Pet Friendly
The Winterfest Wonders of Light Trail is paved and mostly flat, making it an easy walk for family members of all ages! The trail is also wheelchair-friendly, and parents will have no problem pushing strollers along the path! Guests are welcome to bring their dogs along for the fun as well, but keep in mind that leashes are required at all times. Also, note that the walk is a 6-mile out-and-back trail, so there is somewhat of a significant distance to cover if you want to see the full display!
