4 Reasons You’ll Love The Dollywood Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival

Dollywood is a great place to visit any time of the year, but during the holiday season, it’s absolutely magical! From early November through the end of the year, the theme park hosts its annual Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival. Featuring special shows and decorations, Dollywood is transformed into a winter wonderland that you have to see to believe.

When you stay at All Season Suites, you will be just a five minute drive from all of the fun! Here are four reasons your family will love the Dollywood Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival:

1. Spectacular Christmas Lights

Throughout the Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival, Dollywood is decked out with beautiful light displays. While you will find the beautiful Christmas lights all around the theme park, the heart of the decorations is at Timber Canyon. Each evening, the thousands of lights at this section of the park synchronize with holiday music to create some truly stunning entertainment.

2. Nightly Holiday ParadesA beautiful Christmas tree covered in lights at the Dollywood Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival.

This year, Dollywood is starting a brand new tradition: the Parade of Many Colors. For much of the Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival, the theme park will offer nightly parades at 8 p.m. that feature incredible holiday floats, special characters, and a few surprises thrown in. The parade was designed by Dolly Parton to tie in thematically with her new holiday movie on NBC, “Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love”, which premiers on November 30 at 9 p.m.

3. It’s a Wonderful Life

Another new addition to the Dollywood Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival this year is a staged adaptation of the timeless Christmas movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life”. In the classic holiday tale, George Bailey plans to end his life on Christmas Eve when his guardian angel intervenes to show him how the world would be a much poorer place if he had never been born. Dollywood always puts on world class performances, so we can’t wait to see this exciting new show!

4. Meet Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Friends

If you will be visiting Dollywood with young children, they will love having the chance to meet everyone’s favorite holiday hero: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer! The stars of the popular stop motion TV special will be at the Holly Jolly Junction to greet guests and pose for photos. In addition to Rudolph, visitors can expect to see Clarice, Bumble the Abominable Snow Monster, and Yukon Cornelius.
