1. Walking Trail at Patriot Park
The Walking Trail at Patriot Park offers a peaceful hike right in the heart of town, making it a perfect stop when you want a break from the activities on the Parkway! While strolling along this lovely path, you’ll see the flags of all 50 states and several memorials that are dedicated to the veterans of Pigeon Forge! The trail is just half a mile long, but you can extend your hike by walking to Patriot Park from our hotel! If you turn left out of our entrance, there is a sidewalk that runs along Veterans Boulevard – just follow this along, turn left onto Teaster Lane, turn left again onto Old Mill Avenue, and walk until you reach the park on the left!
2. Riverwalk Greenway
Another one of the top hiking trails in Pigeon Forge that is fun to explore is the Riverwalk Greenway, which actually connects to the Walking Trail at Patriot Park! The Riverwalk Greenway includes more than 4 miles of trails and follows along the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River, making it a popular destination for locals too! The trail runs for one mile around the old City Park loop behind the Pigeon Forge Community Center, then travels along the river for one mile through the Island in Pigeon Forge. It continues behind the LeConte Convention Center, then leads for 1.5 miles along Butler Street before connecting to the Patriot Park trail!
3. Wear Farm City Park Trail
The Wear Farm City Park Trail offers a half-mile trail that winds past the park’s playground facilities, ball fields, and other recreational facilities! If you have young children, they’ll especially love this hike as the Pigeon Forge Public Library has created a unique storybook theme along the trail! While exploring this free “StoryWalk”, you’ll discover 17 different plaques with a storybook and each has been placed at a child’s level for ease of visibility and to encourage interaction! The displays also include a physical activity that guides you through the feature story, so the walk promotes both reading and exercise!
