Top 4 Exhibits at WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge for Kids
WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge is a great museum to visit that the whole family will enjoy. The museum is especially great for people with children because of all the interactive exhibits that kids will love! Here are 4 of the best exhibits at WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge for kids:
1. Extreme Weather Zone
This exhibit is used to teach everyone about all the different natural phenomena that occur with the weather. The first weather sensation kids will be able to experience is the earthquake. With the thrilling Earthquake Cafe simulator, families can sit down at a table and learn about a 1989 earthquake that struck the San Francisco Bay area, causing a delay in a World Series game. During the simulation, you will get to feel what that 5.3 magnitude earthquake felt like on that day. Also in the Extreme Weather Zone is the Hurricane Shack ride. This is where you are put in a chamber and get to feel what the wind from a category 1 hurricane feels like, with the wind blowing 74 miles per hour.
2. Physical Challenge Zone
The Physical Challenge Zone is an interactive exhibit where kids can do a couple of hands-on activities they will never forget. The first thing is the Bed of Nails. This exhibit is meant to teach children all about the science behind pressure. Although it hurts to step on a single nail, they are able to lay on a bed of 3500 nails without it even leaving a mark. Also in this area you will find an awesome bubble lab that everyone will enjoy. With huge tubs of bubble soap and giant bubble wands, take turns to see who is able to make the biggest bubble without it popping! This exhibit is the perfect way for children to learn all about reflections as they can see themselves in the bubbles they create. This is just one of the best exhibits at WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge for kids.
3. Imagination Lab
This exhibit is one of the best exhibits for younger children. The first thing that is available in the Imagination Lab is a giant version of the once popular toy Lite-Brite. Kids are able to step up to the giant wall and rearrange colored pegs that light up to make their own creation. Another great thing in the lab is the Dig It Sandbox exhibit. While it seems like you are digging in real sand on the beach, through the help of augmented reality you can make yourself a landscape masterpiece!
4. Light and Sound Zone
In the Light and Sound Zone at WonderWorks in Pigeon Forge, children are able to learn different facts about how light and sound travel throughout the universe. One of the coolest features of this exhibit is the Strike A Pose Zone. As you stand up against a wall, a flash of light captures what your shadow looks like when the picture was taken. Kids enjoy making all different types of poses and seeing them appear on the wall behind them!
